Spring Clean-Up for Earth Day

April 25, 2022

2 facials with black garbage bags performing cleanup

Friday April 22nd marked the annual celebration for Earth Day. Convertus sites across Canada joined forces to clean up the neighbourhoods in which they operate. This is the fifth consecutive year that Convertus has participated in a spring clean.

“Each year after the snow has melted there is a plethora of garbage that becomes visible in and around the green spaces around our facilities.” Said Joel Rutty, Regional Operations Manager for Ontario sites. “It’s disheartening to see that so many people are still littering.”

Convertus provided cleanup kits to employees who collected litter and disposed of it in their regular garbage collection. It’s an activity that over the years employees have enjoyed for the reason that they simultaneously are creating cleaner greener spaces and enjoying the physical activity perks of walking outside. This event comes just after the Company launched a paid volunteer time off program for eligible employees to use which support activities such as these that enhance and serve the communities in which we live and work. “This program recognizes that giving back not only benefits the community but can positively contribute to the overall health and wellbeing of our employees.” Said Kim Gould, Human Resources Director for Convertus.
